i do suppose i was apprehensive about this trip and here’s me saying I’m glad i went and i am glad i had time to take a step back and re-realize a few things. this trip brought up many things and I’m willing to take them all and learn from them. i know it sounds cliche and all but it’s true, i really want to.
most of it came together on the last day and aptly so, i learnt it from riding bit less. and without aids, a major step for me because it’s so ingrained i suppose, i mean HECK, my JOB is teaching people to ride with the right aids.
when i rode today, it felt like it came together- over a time, i admit to have lost touch of the essence- riding being all about being on the same page as the horse I’m on. for a few months, it’s been a job, a goal, an endless seeking of proving myself and some of it being ‘i can do it too’. and today, i just rode. just rode. and i think it’s felt better than it has in awhile and I’m so glad.
here are some of the highlights of my trip. em, NO. contrary to what you might possibly think after viewing this series, i DID learn a lot and yes, a lot of it was intrinsic but i learnt all the same. i didn’t just eat. hurhurhur…. =D
here’s Timmy or well, Katie’s making friends with him! em, i had a slight run in with him, i also tried a therapy session where i had to work with him. let’s just say that i am WAAAY better with horses than goats.
because we got there a day early, we decided to take a trip to nearest hot-spot Noosa…
and then we took a tractor ride when we got back around the property and this is one of many views of Cooroy mountain
we cooked a few nights and this is one of the BEST sandwiches i have had EVER. we decided to have some smoked ham from the Eumundi Smokehouse with whatever we found in the fridge. might i add that the zucchini salad with buffalo mozzarella was katie’s creation from the previous night and it was AWESOME, i am not a fan of zucchini but it was GREAT!
and then of course, toward the end of our trip we decided to have fish and chippies so we went on a hunt and found THIS in Noosa.. =)
WHOOOOO!!!!! =)))
burgers bigger than faces, for the win!!!
oh um, this was jill’s “small” fries, 3.95AUD. em. yes. smallest portion available to order. so..along with katie’s order of small fries, we STILL couldn’t finish.
luckily, i swapped my fries for calamari. so here’s my grilled barramundi and calamari..
yes, note how the fish and chippies came in a CAKE BOX? i love australia!
here’s our last lunch before heading to the airport, a reasonably priced seaside cafe in Caloundra.
my steak sandwich! which i shared with katie..
jill’s egg benedict
and katie’s smoked salmon and caper open-faced sandwich.
to top it off, we got upgraded to business class on the way back!!!!!! =))))))
best flight EVER!

so here i am, the day before it all begins. I’m glad we made things better in cooroy, ready to start right. tomorrow it begins and I’m sure it’ll bring ALOT of things for us. i already know the dynamics will change and people will come and go, I’m not sure how to feel. significant people to the program and to me-but well. they need to lead their lives too.
this trip was us coming together, equipping ourselves and saying JUST BRING IT.
